Acri, Guzzetti: "Francesco Profumo suitable as president"

Francesco Profumo "he is a more than adequate person to be the president of Acri". The endorsement to the president of the Compagnia di San Paolo – of which FIRSTonline has already spoken as candidate in pole position – comes directly from the outgoing number one of foundations and savings banks, Joseph Guzzetti, whose mandate will expire next spring.

"In Acri we have always decided everything unanimously and this decision too will be taken unanimously", added Guzzetti, who has presided over the association for 18 years.

On the other hand, Guzzetti also expressed a positive opinion on the other Piedmontese in the running – Giovanni Quaglia, president of the Crt Foundation – which “has already received this important recognition in the Cdp support committee (of which he is president, ed). The rest will follow."

So who will be the next president of Acri? “You who are intelligent, draw your own conclusions”, concludes Guzzetti with a joke.

The current president of Acri, on the other hand, did not want to comment in any way on the renewal of Intesa Sanpaolo's top management and in particular on the possible confirmation of president Gian Maria Gros-Pietro.

Meanwhile, this morning the General Council of the CRC Foundation and the Steering Committee of the Cassa di Risparmio di Bra Foundation approved the project for the merger by incorporation of the Cassa di Risparmio di Bra Foundation into the CRC Foundation.

It is the first operation of this kind in Italy, in implementation of the provisions of the Acri-MEF Protocol of 2015, which called for "forms of cooperation and aggregation for the pursuit of common objectives" between foundations and invited "foundations which, due to their small assets, are unable to achieve a adequate technical, disbursement and operational capacity" to activate "forms of collaboration to jointly manage operational activities up to mergers between entities".

Specifically, the merger operation must receive the approval of the MEF to then proceed with the merger notarial deed, expected at the beginning of 2019 with retroactive effect from 1 January. The Cassa di Risparmio di Bra Foundation will be operational until the merger deed, in time to approve its 2018 financial statements and then merge into the CRC Foundation.

From the point of view of the quantities involved, the value of the assets of the Cassa di Risparmio di Bra Foundation which will be incorporated by the CRC Foundation amounts to approximately 30 million euros. 1,4 billion euros is the value of the assets of the CRC Foundation.
