The Extraordinary Assembly of Acri, the Association of Foundations and Savings Banks, today approved the new statute which provides for substantial changes to governance in order to implement decision-making processes, paving the way for greater participation by Associates in the training of associative bodies and a strengthened link with the territorial structures.

The statutory reform proposal, drawn up by the Governance Committee chaired by Paolo Andrei, provides in detail for the separation of responsibilities between the Board and the Presidential Committee (renamed the Executive Committee), the former with strategic and general guidance functions, the latter with executive functions; the harmonization of the presence of Foundations within the Council according to dimensional and territorial parameters; the involvement of the territories in the process of appointing members of the Council; the introduction of an elective process within the Board for the composition of the Executive Committee.

Lastly, the new statute envisages enhancing the liaison functions of the Consultes and of the Territorial Associations, informing the Associates about the decisions taken at the Acri headquarters and at the same time collecting the territorial requests to be submitted to the attention of the Associations. In this perspective, the Consulte/Territorial Associations will be members of the Association by right,

The Council will be composed of 30 members, in addition to the President of the Association, of which 5 expressions of the five member Foundations in terms of size of assets on the basis of the latest approved budget available; one representing the Small and Medium-sized Foundations Committee, two for the Banks Committee and twenty-two from five Geographical Areas (North West, North East, Emilia Romagna, Centre, South and Islands), nine of which represented by the coordinators/presidents of the Councils/Associations Territorial.

The Executive Committee will be made up of 8 members representing Foundations and 1 representing the Banks Committee, in addition to the President who is a member by right and is elected by the Assembly. The members of the Executive Committee will be elected from among the members of the Board in office which, among them, indicates up to three as Vice Presidents representing the Foundations. The member of the Executive Committee representing the Banks is appointed by the Banks Committee from among the two members of the Board appointed by the same and assumes the office of Deputy Chairman representing the Banks.
