Mantua is looking for new inhabitants. The Lombard municipality has activated the announcement “Welcome to the city” which offers a incentive to attract new residentsa monthly contribution of 150 euros for 12 months. Applications can be submitted from May 6 until funds run out. The overall investment will be 200 thousand euros, with the aim of accepting over 100 applications. For young people under 36 who move for the first time, support will be guaranteed for 24 months. The goal is not only to bring in new residents, but also to stimulate the recovery of vacant homes. The "Abitare Borgochiesanuova" tender is also underway, making 67 new apartments of different types available in the neighborhood of the same name.
Mantua: who is “Welcome to the city” aimed at?
The announcement is aimed at singles and families who move to Mantua to rented accommodation on the free market or to Sas accommodation (Social Housing Service). Two categories are affected. Under 36 who leave the family to create their own nucleus. This group includes singles and families under 36 who are not yet residents of Mantua or who already live elsewhere but decide to leaving the family for the first time; those who do not fall into the first category and choose to move to Mantua. These may be singles or families moving into free market rental accommodation or Sas accommodation.
The contribution will be 12 months' salary for most applicants. However, for the under 36 singles already resident in Mantua in another accommodation who leave their family of origin for the first time, the contribution will be extended to 24 months' rent.
Mantua: the requirements of the "Welcome to the city" call
The notice also distinguishes i economic requirements to benefit from the measure which changes based on age: for those under 36, the ISEE must be between 9.500 and 40.000 euros per year while for others the minimum ISEE threshold rises to 14.000 euros. All applicants must possess Italian citizenship, community or a regular residence permit, and must receive an income from work (or pension). You must also have a rental contract registered after the publication of the notice, with a minimum duration of one year and a monthly rental fee of at least 350 euros.
How the contribution will be paid
Once the request has been approved, the cThe contribution will be paid monthly to the beneficiaries by crediting their bank or postal account, the number of which was indicated during the submission of the application. This will happen after checking several factors:
First of all, for the first month's payment, you have to check that the applicant has actually requested, both for himself and for his family, residence in the new accommodation in Mantua and that this is maintained for the entire period in which the contribution is paid.
Furthermore, again for the first month's payment, it is necessary that the applicant has presented the ISEE relating to the new family and that this falls within the established income ranges.
Another fundamental requirement is that the owner of the rental contract has regularly paid the rent to the owner of the accommodation.
Finally, it is important that none have been issued notice to release the property (eviction) against the applicant.
How to submit the application
Starting from 8am on 30 May, it is possible to submit the request by filling out an online form on the Municipality's website and using digital identification via Spid or Cie. The call for applications will remain open until resources are exhausted, which will be communicated through a notice published on the dedicated page. Requests will be managed in chronological order of receipt for each category of beneficiaries.
After sending the request, any admission to the contribution will be confirmed via a formal note sent to the e-mail address indicated by the applicant. Complete requests that meet all requirements will receive a notification of admission to the contribution via e-mail.
On the other hand, incomplete or missing requests will receive a notification of inadmissibility via email. In this case, the applicant will have to send a new application, attaching all the required documents.
Mantua: the “Abitare Borgochiesanuova” tender also starts
In addition to "Welcome to the city", the Municipality of Mantua has also launched the “Abitare Borgochiesanuova” call for tenders, financed with 9 million euros from the Pnrr, in the context of the “Pinqua” project. The project delivers 67 new apartments for rent in the Borgo Chiesanuova district, south-west of the city, intended for young people, families and new residents with income from work. THE requirements include Italian citizenship or citizenship of another EU state, residence or work activity in Lombardy, and an ISEE income limit between 14.000 and 40.000 euros.
Also in this case the preferences they go to couples under 36 newly formed, to workers and families not resident in Mantua who transfer their residence to the assigned accommodation within 20 days.
The accommodation, owned by the municipality, offers various types, including two-room, three-room, four-room and duplex apartments, with modern comforts and shared parking space. The assignment questions they can be presented online or by appointment at Aster, with a time window from 6 May to 28 June 2024. The list it will be available from July 19th, and there will be days dedicated to visiting the accommodations.
