Non-performing loans are growing, but loans to businesses and mortgages are also picking up again. And this is the picture that emerges from the last one monthly bulletin of the Abi. According to the survey, last December December gross bad debts they amounted to almost 183,7 billion euro, from 181,1 billion in November. The ratio of gross bad loans to loans rose to 9,6% at the end of 2014 (from 8,1% a year earlier and 2,8% at the end of 2007), a value that reached 16,1% for small economic operators (14% in December 2013; 7,1% at the end of 2007), 16,2% for businesses (13,3% a year earlier; 3,6% at the end of 2007) and 6,9% for households female consumers (6,5% in December 2013; 2,9% at the end of 2007).
Le net suffering on the other hand, they recorded a slight decrease at the end of 2014, falling from 84,8 billion in November to 84,5 billion in December. The ratio of net non-performing loans to total loans was 4,64% in December from 4,67% in November 2014 (4,31% in December 2013; 0,86%, before the start of the crisis).
How many credit, in January the amount of loans to customers disbursed by banks operating in Italy, amounting to 1.827 billion euro, was "significantly" higher (almost 116 billion) than the total amount of deposits from customers, which stood at 1.711 billion. THE business financing recorded in the fourth quarter of 2014 an increase on an annual basis of +12,1% compared to the same period of 2013 and "there is a significant trend reversal, which is a bit more than a signal", commented in a telephone briefing with journalists the deputy director general of ABI, Gianfranco Torriero.
Throughout 2014 mortgages for the purchase of real estate they grew by 32,5% over the year. The average rate on new home purchase transactions stood at 2,9%, from 2,88% in the previous month (lowest value since November 2010). It was 5,72% at the end of 2007. In general, interest rates on loans in Italy were still low in January. The average rate on total loans was 3,69% (3,67% the previous month; 6,18% at the end of 2007). The average rate on new business loan transactions decreased to 2,46% (the lowest value since August 2010) from 2,56% in December 2014 (5,48% at the end of 2007).
La bank funding recorded a decrease of approximately 7,2 billion euro in January compared to a year earlier, with an annual decrease of -0,4% (-1,2% in December 2014), reflecting the negative dynamics of the component in the medium and long term. The dichotomy between the two components has once again been confirmed: the medium and long-term one, i.e. through bonds, recorded a drop of -2015% in January 13,3 (in absolute value, almost 68 billion euro less on an annual basis) , which penalizes the disbursement of medium and long-term loans. Deposits, on the other hand, continue to steadily increase: at the end of January 2015 they showed an increase on an annual basis of 5% (+61 billion), after the +4,1% of December 2014. From the end of 2007 to today, deposits from customers it went from 1.513 to 1.711,3 billion euros, with an increase in absolute value of almost 199 billion.
