As of July 1, 2026, the 15 listed companies owned by the Ministry of Economy and Finance had a market capitalization of €394,8 billion, equal to 34,1% of the total market capitalization. Compared to January 1, 2026, when the market capitalization was €310,3 billion (29,5% of the list price), the market capitalization increased by €84,4 billion (+28,5%).

Compared to 1 January 2026, when the value was 310,3 billion (29,5% of the list price), the capitalization increased by 84,4 billion euros (+ 28,5 %).

According to the analysis, the total value of the shares held by the State in listed companies amounts to 133,4 billion eurosAmong the companies with the largest capitalization are: Enel 101,6 billion euros (8,77% of the list price); Eni 62 billion (5,35%); STMicroelectronics 59,2 billion (5,11%); Poste Italiane 37,1 billion (3,21%); Mps Bank 32,8 billion (2,83%); Leonardo 27,3 billion (2,36%); Snam 20,9 billion (1,8%); Terna 20,4 billion (1,76%). Followed by Italgas (10,1 billion), Saipem (8,7 billion), nexi (4,1 billion), Fincantieri (3,5 billion), Enav (2,7 billion), Trevi Industrial Finance (2,6 billion) e Rai Way (1,3 billion), all with a weight of less than 1% of the list price.

State-owned companies: increases and rankings

In the first half of 2026 the most significant capitalization increases were registered by Trevi Finanziaria Industriale
STMicroelectronics (+189,21%), Saipem (+80,45%), Poste Italiane (+32,5%), Eni (+22,13%), Banca MPS (+18,53%), Nexi (+16,99%), Enel (+12,59%), Terna (+12,27%), Snam (+10,11%), Enav (+8,51%), and Italgas (+4,78%). Leonardo (-3,9%), Rai Way (-12,7%), and Fincantieri (-32,19%) all fell.

As for the value of public shareholdingsThe largest stakes are in STMicroelectronics (€29,6 billion, equal to 50% of the capital), Enel (€23,9 billion; 23,6%), Poste Italiane (€23,8 billion; 64,26%), Eni (€20,5 billion; 33,09%), Leonardo (€8,2 billion; 30,2%), Snam (€6,5 billion; 31,4%), and Terna (€6,1 billion; 29,9%). They are followed by Italgas (€3,9 billion), Saipem (€2,9 billion), Fincantieri (€2,2 billion), Banca Mps (€1,5 billion), Enav (€1,4 billion), Rai Way (€861,4 million), Nexi (€806,8 million), and Trevi Finanziaria Industriale (€559,9 million).

In overall ranking Of the companies listed on Euronext Milan, five of the top ten are state-owned: Enel (third), Eni (sixth), StMicroelectronics (seventh), Poste Italiane (ninth) and Banca Mps (tenth).
