Fashion, design, food, motors, jewelry, and yachting: all these sectors, diverse yet united by Italian excellence, are represented among the 56 member brands of Altagamma, the association that brings together the leading names in Italian luxury. To further promote the cultural and creative prestige of our companies, Altagamma is launching a special initiative:From April 9th to 11th he will hold an exhibition in the heart of New York, in Manhattan, entitled “Icons of Italy”The exhibition will involve 43 Altagamma stores, which will showcase Italian style for three days through various events, which will be available to learn about in detail on the website starting from March 25th. iconsofitaly.altagamma.it.
Altagamma members will offer a wide range of experiences: master craftsmen showcasing their work; workshops on fabric and jewelry making techniques; talks with designers and experts; wine tastings and cooking demonstrations; video installations and illustrations of artifacts from the brands' historical archives. Each experience is aimed at: enhance the creative process that makes the creation of iconic products possible and is designed to tell, in various forms, the value and know-how of Italian heritage. The project is part of the initiatives designed for the National Made in Italy Day, celebrated not coincidentally on April 15th, anniversary of the birth of Leonardo da Vinci, the genius who embodied the union of art, science, technology, and imagination that is the foundation of Italian creativity.
Why New York? Because, explains Altagamma itself, For decades, Americans have been among the main admirers of Italian creativity. Collectors, consumers, designers, and institutions have played a fundamental role in transforming Italian excellence into a global cultural phenomenon.
