Today, the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, previewed the exhibition "The Railways of Italy (1861-2025). From National Unity to the Challenges of the Future." The exhibition, promoted and organized by VIVE – Vittoriano and Palazzo Venezia and the FS Italiane Group, It will be open to the public from Friday, November 7th until January 11th, in the Zanardelli Hall of the Vittoriano and in the Great Garden of Palazzo Venezia. Accompanying the President of the Republic were the President of the FS Group, Tommaso Tanzilli, the CEO and General Manager of the FS Group, Stefano Antonio Donnarumma, and the General Manager of VIVE, Edith Gabrielli, curator of the exhibition.
The initiative is part of the Celebrations for the 120th anniversary of the founding of the Italian State Railways, which took place in 1905, during the Giolitti era. Since then, the Italian State Railways have accompanied every phase of Italian history: from the world wars to reconstruction, from the economic boom to globalization, up to today's challenges, combining technology and sustainability. The exhibition explores the world of railways from different, intertwined perspectives. Graphics, documents, images, and artworks interact dynamically, offering the public a vivid and engaging account of train travel and the history of our country.
