At the end of 2013 the climate of confidence in the euro area has recovered, especially among consumers. This is what emerges from a survey by the European Commission.
The general index settled at 100 points in December, from 98,4 in November, slightly exceeding expectations and marking the highest value since July 2011.
According to the survey, the improvement mainly involved household confidence, while stable values or slight decreases were recorded among the various groupings of companies.
