Dyson: a success story
Dyson is a British company founded in 1991 by James dyson. The company's history begins in the 70s when Dyson, dissatisfied with the decline in performance of his vacuum cleaner, decided to create a better device. After more than 5.000 prototypes, he developed a bagless vacuum cleaner based on cyclonic technology, which separates dust from the air using centrifugal force. Unable to sell the invention to existing manufacturers, Dyson founded his own company. The success arrived with the launch of the DC01 in 1993, revolutionizing the vacuum cleaner market. Since then, Dyson has expanded its product range to include bladeless fans, hair dryers and air purifiers, becoming a leader in home appliance technology innovation.
Over the past two decades, Dyson has diversified its offer including air purifiers and hand dryers. Beyond the 50% of sales of the company now comes from Asia Pacific, with significant expansion of production in countries such as Singapore and the Philippines. In 2019, founder Dyson announced plans to move the company's headquarters from the UK to Singapore.
