In less than six months, Vodafone's Rete Sicura platform, designed to protect internet browsing, has intercepted over 130 viruses and unwanted programs on smartphones and tablets. Among them, trojans (53%) and adware viruses on Android (14%) and Windows (10%) operating systems.
Furthermore, with Parental Control for the little ones, it was possible to block access to over three million risky content, including social networks (71%), logos and ringtones (7%) and pornographic material (6%).
This was communicated by Vodafone, specifying that so far Rete Sicura has filtered 16,7 terabytes a day of data traffic produced by over 500 active users in Italy on the mobile network.
In Italy, according to data communicated by the company, 40 out of 100 are internet users who are victims of computer crimes. 90% of identity thefts found by the Postal and Communications Police concern electronic payment data and home banking.
Among the platforms most at risk are social networks, where 97% of malware on the net is hidden. In all cases, it is a matter of markedly increasing phenomena. Especially on the mobile side, where the number of threats to smartphones and tablets has grown 50 times over the past year.
