Violet Trefusis, l'esprit de Violette is an international journey – from 1894 to 1972 – to the rediscovery of Violet Trefusis through original photographs, documents and objects that accompany the visitor on a fascinating and unprecedented temporal journey. The exhibition, curated by Tiziana Masucci, will be inaugurated with free admission on Friday 24 November and will remain open until 30 November 2017 at the DolceVita Gallery in Rome (Via Palermo 41). On the occasion of the inauguration, the screening of the documentary film: “La Firenze di Violet Trefusis. The esprit of Violette”.

The documentary film is a double biography of Violet Trefusis, cosmopolitan writer and patron of the arts who lived in the splendid Villa dell'Ombrellino and in France; and of her “his of hers” Florence of the 50s and 60s, as opposed to the Rome of the sweet life. A lively portrait that reconstructs the intellectual vivacity of Violet Trefusis and of a Florence that was le passage générale de toute Europe in the name of a biographical truth.
