Venice: Closing international conference of the Messe project

What is changing in the relationships between profit companies, non-profit companies and public administrations? With which reference framework – community, national and regional – with which policies, resources and opportunities are Veneto social enterprises confronted today? While the 2014-2020 European programming is in full swing, after the great Strasbourg convention, what concrete spaces are opening up to consolidate the original contribution of social enterprises to the growth of an intelligent, sustainable and supportive economy? In international comparison, what are the most emblematic and fruitful experiences of symbiosis between social enterprises and their geographical and functional context? How can we encourage the unfolding of their innovative potential in areas other than the traditional social-health sector, such as the environment, culture, management of common goods, education, tourism? What are the excellences that can be exported or replicated, what are the critical issues that need to be worked on? On which aspects is a closer and more systematic cooperation between the realities bearers of good practices desirable?

And, last but not least, the financial side: between public agencies, large credit groups and specialized banking institutions, is the range of products and services available adequate to accompany the evolutionary path of new social enterprises and consolidated cooperatives? And above all, are procedures and times compatible with the needs of a rapidly changing and growing internationalization sector?

The Final International Conference of the MESSE Project will start from these questions (Mechanism for Enhancement of Synergy and Sustainability among Enterprises) scheduled in Venice, Palazzo Grandi Stazioni, Thursday 25 September. In addition to partners from nine countries (Bulgaria, Germany, Greece, Italy, United Kingdom, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Hungary) and the management authorities of the transnational cooperation programme, will be attended by representatives of the Community, national and regional institutions, teachers, experts and protagonists of innovative experiences. Alongside the articulated world of cooperation, a large presence of profit companies involved in social responsibility initiatives is expected.

Starting from an initial assessment of the project results and the sharing of the services produced, an overview of the impact of EXPO in the various contexts, on the indications that have emerged for the regional policies on the subject and on the opportunities for recovery, deepening and enlargement of the partnership thanks to future tenders. A specific session will be entirely dedicated to the presentation of successful cases of cooperation and contamination between profit and non-profit companies.

“It will be a very important appointment – he underlines Marialuisa Coppola, regional councilor for the economy, development, research and innovation – by speakers, participants, content and method.
