Veneto Banca said yes. Within a week, the institute will raise almost 250 million euros to settle the dispute with the shareholders who have accepted the settlement offer, thus giving up further actions to obtain compensation.
The Board of Directors has decided to make the settlement offer effective for shareholders, despite the adhesions having not reached the minimum threshold of 80 percent initially indicated as a precedent condition.
The offer, addressed to around 85% of the shareholder base (equal to around 75 thousand shareholders), was attended by a total of 54.374 shareholders (72,6% of the total), holders of 67,6% of the shares included in the perimeter of the offer.
Net of untraceable positions, the percentage of participating shareholders was approximately 74,5% of the total, corresponding to 68,2% of the Veneto Banca shares which fell within the scope of the offer.
The total amount of the financial award due to participating shareholders is equal to 248,5 million and will be paid within 5 working days of this communication.
