Better news than expected from the world of work made in the USA. In February, in the private sector, 198 jobs were created, against the 175 expected by analysts. The January figure was also revised upwards, to 215.000 units, from 192.000 in the first estimate. The numbers are contained in the monthly report prepared by Macroeconomics Avdisers and Automatic Data Processing, the agency that prepares payroll.
The result bodes well in anticipation of Friday, when the US Department of Labor's general employment report for last month will be released. An increase of 160 jobs is expected (substantially in line with 157 in January), while the unemployment rate should remain unchanged at 7,9%.
