Analysts were expecting a higher rise in GDP (+2,7%) - On the subsidy front, however, an increase to 327 units was expected.

The US economy grew 2,5% in the second quarter. This was revealed by the third and final revision of the Department of Commerce, which confirmed the data of the previous one. Analysts had expected a rise of 2,7%.

On the labor front, however, American workers filed for unemployment benefits for the first time last week and decreased by 5 to 305. The Department of Labor reports. Analysts had expected an increase to 327 units. The previous week's figure was revised upwards from 309 to 310 units.

The four-week average, more reliable as it is not subject to market fluctuations, fell by 7 to 308, the lowest figure since June 2007. The total number of workers receiving unemployment benefits for more than a week – relating to the week ending 14 September, the last for which data is available – increased by 35 thousand to 2.820.000 units.
