Positive signals from the American labor market. According to data released today by the US Department of Labor, in February in the United States the rate of unemployment fell to 7,7%, the lowest since the end of 2008, while i new jobs created reached 236.
The data is much better than expected. Analysts had forecast the creation of 160 jobs and an unemployment rate down to 7,8%, from 7,9% the previous month.
The positive numbers from overseas gave impetus to the European stock exchanges: at the beginning of the afternoon, Piazza Affari gained more than one and a half points, London 0,5%, Paris 1,24% and Frankfurt 0,8%.
