Usa, counterfeiting: 4,3 million dollars in compensation for Ferragamo

For once, fake pays off. I'm coming 4,3 million dollars for Salvatore Ferragamo, who is celebrating today in Piazza Affari with an increase of two and a half percentage points, among the best stocks of the Ftse Mib. The Italian fashion house will collect the sum as compensation in the context of a civil suit brought in the United States against about fifteen counterfeiters.

The company explains in a note that the Court of the Southern District of New York, where the company had filed in January "a civil action against 15 owners of a total of 95 domain names who usurped the prestigious brand and who marketed counterfeit products", has recognized the existence of damages of more than four million.

The same court, in a previous device, had already ordered the transfer of the names of these domains to the company and had taken steps to shut down the sites.

"As a company we are committed to protecting our brand and fighting counterfeiting which has beset the most prestigious brands in the fashion and luxury sector for many years", commented Ferruccio Ferragamo, president of the group, welcoming "with satisfaction" the decision of the court.
