USA 2024: Biden and Russian threats to space satellites, Trump on trial for the porn star. The two faces of America in the race for the White House

While Vladimir Putin bursts into the US elections with a public endorsement in favor of Joe Biden, the United States journeys towards what will be the decisive day for America and its allies: the next one 5th November. In the race to White House 2024 in fact, the remake of Biden against is being staged Donald Trump, with numerous unknowns. The two sides of America study, challenge and compare each other: the current US president is grappling with the repercussions (including electoral ones) of the wars in the Middle East and Ukraine. The new alarms linked to "Russian threats in space against satellites" are linked to the latter. However, legal troubles are now looming over the tycoon who aims to return to Washington, first of all - in chronological order at least - the criminal trial for having secretly paid the porn star Stormy Daniels. The date set: March 25, in full primaries.

USA, services alert on new threat from Russia

The bar of international attention between the USA and Russia is rising again after the alarm raised in the US Congress over a "serious threat to national security", identified by the White House with "Moscow's new capabilities in space against the satellites“. The spokesperson for the National Security Council John Kirby However, he did not want to reveal their nature nor say whether they are nuclear capabilities, as leaked in the American media. However, Kirby clarified that "this is not an immediate and active threat", in the sense that these capabilities "have not yet been deployed". And he reported that Joe Biden has ordered a series of response actions, starting with diplomatic action with Moscow, also because the development of Russian capabilities would violate a 1967 treaty banning weapons of mass destruction in space.

However, it seems that the new "weapon" would be able to hit the vast network of US satellites and therefore to destroy civil communications, the surveillance system from space and also the command and control network of military operations by Washington and its allies. Coinciding with these developments, the Pentagon launched an experimental missile tracking system to test a new plan that aims to cover low Earth orbit with hundreds of smaller, cheaper satellites, modeled Musk's Starlink: the idea is that, even if some of the US satellites were to be knocked out, the system could continue to function by moving to other units in the orbiting network.

Moscow, the reply: "US stratagem"

Moscow responded by denying everything: “It's another ploy by the White House to try, by hook or by crook, to push Congress to approve aid to Kiev,” accused the Kremlin spokesperson, Dmitri Peskov. A reference to the $95 billion bill, of which 60 billion for Ukraine, approved in a bipartisan way by the Senate but stalled in the House, where Speaker Mike Johnson refuses to put it to the vote because it lacks security measures on the border with Mexico.

Trump on trial for money from porn star Stormy Daniels

The criminal trial against Donald Trump for payments to porn star Stormy Daniels was set for March 25th. This was established by Judge Juan Merchan of the New York court, despite the former president's lawyers having asked for a postponement, arguing that Trump will then be in the midst of the electoral campaign to win the Republican nomination for the November presidential elections. The former president is accused of having falsified its financial statements to secretly pay the porn star Stormy Daniels, who had had an affair with him, and thus buy her silence during the 2016 election campaign. The trial could be the first to open against Trump during the primaries, while the former president is seeking the postponement of other proceedings against him.

Putin, the pro-Biden endorsement

Russian President Vladimir Putin makes a interested in public endorsement for the American elections: “Biden is more experienced in politics” and for this reason Russia would prefer him over Trump as president of the United States, as he is an old school politician and therefore more predictable.
In an interview with TV journalist Pavel Zarubin Rossiya 1, the head of the Kremlin ranges over various topics, from the race for the White House, to the war in Ukraine, up to his recent and long conversation with the American journalist Tucker Carlson. Russia is ready to work with any US president, Putin assured, pointing out that it would be "incorrect to interfere" in the American campaign. At the same time, however, he says he has chosen the ideal leader: Biden “is more experienced and more predictable. He is an old-school politician,” the Tsar said, adding that instead“ Trump was called a non-systemic politician, he has his own opinion on how the United States should develop relations with its allies.”
