Strike 6-7 July: the reasons

The strike was called by the grassroots unions due to seriously poor working conditions, in particular with regards to security, with negative consequences also for users and the quality of the service. In recent months, serious accidents have occurred, and workers' complaints have gone unheeded by both companies and politicians.

David Leoni, member of the Cub national coordination, explains: “We have an open contractual dispute on these issues. With other grassroots trade union acronyms, we are carrying out a contractual platform and this is our fourth strike since the beginning of the year. We have developed common contents based on a questionnaire that collected the opinions of the workers, used as a reference for the Pdm and Pdb national assembly, which is joined by that of the maintenance sector workers against an agreement that provides for upheavals in working hours".
