Stock Exchange, TIMedia suspended due to excessive increases (+15%) on La7 sale items

The Telecom Italia Media title is in volatility auction in Piazza Affari, with a theoretical increase of almost 15 points. The boom is related to rumors circulated over the weekend about an imminent start of the La7 sales process, as part of a more general reorganization of the group controlled by Telecom Italia.

Today, in an interview with Corriere della Sera, Gad Lerner, historical face of the broadcaster, said: "Wednesday there will be a corporate split, there is no longer any confidentiality constraint in stating it". The green light from the Telecom Italia board of directors should arrive on Wednesday. The goal would be to sell the asset within the year.

Among the potential buyers there would be Charles DeBenedetti, patron of the L'Espresso group, who explicitly said he was ready to enter into negotiations, Urban Cairo of Cairo Communication, former advertising agency of La7 and the French-Tunisian Tarak Ben Ammar. TiMedia closed 2011 with a loss of 83 million, up from 54,4 million in 2010.
