There are over 100 projects collected by Next Energy for the Call for Ideas and the Call for Growth, which both closed on 22 November.
There are 22 innovative projects collected by the Call for Ideas, the tender aimed at teams and/or startups established less than 12 months after the application date and 80 those who presented themselves to the Call for Growth aimed, instead, at startups already on the market and potentially able to offer innovative solutions functional to Terna's activities.
50% of young people who responded to the Call for Ideas set up a startup for less than 12 months, 55% comes from Northern Italy, while Central and Southern Italy are on a par with 22,5%. 36% of the ideas presented fall into the category Solutions or technologies at the service of the electricity system (production, transmission, distribution of electricity and maintenance of infrastructures); 32% are active in Green Technologies & E-mobility; 18% in the Smart grid & Energy storage and finally 14% in the Smart building & Smart plant category.
In January the Jury of the Call for Ideas will select the 10 best innovative projects or startups who will have access to a 3-month entrepreneurial empowerment and acceleration program, spread throughout the country, at the end of which the Jury will award the most promising project with a voucher worth 50 euros that can be spent on further services.
Among the 80 startups that presented themselves to the Call for Growth, 61% despite having less than 3 years of life have already developed innovative solutions ready for the market. Also in the Call for Growth there is a predominance of startups from the North with 41 %. Center and South are equal with 24% while 11% comes from abroad.
In the areas of application of the Call for Growth, the largest number of applications (20%) comes from the world of sensors and the Internet of Things for monitoring and diagnostics. Next, with 19%, are the New renewable generation systems; on equal merit, with 16%, Innovative technological solutions for renewable generation plants and Hardware and software solutions for data management and analysis; in fourth place IT solutions, services and applications to be integrated with Terna's infrastructures and with digital platforms (15%). Finally, with 8% we find systems for the computerized analysis of images and data, with 5% photo-realistic and geo-topographic detection systems and, with 1% Cyber Security.
The Call for Growth will select up to 5 startups who, from January, will access growITup, the open innovation platform created by Cariplo Factory to foster targeted collaborations between companies and innovators.
