It kicks off, today March 28, the The third edition of "Terna Ideas – Corporate Entrepreneurship“, the corporate entrepreneurship program dedicated to the people of Terna with the purpose of identify innovative solutions and ideas, in line with the Group's strategy, aimed at strengthening the energy transition.
Participants are asked to look into the future and come up with their own ideas on how to:
- manage the evolution of the electricity system
- increase the performance and resilience of transmission networks
- increase efficiency and minimize the risks deriving from maintenance activities
- deal better with the new ways of working by helping to create a company in which people are increasingly at the centre.
All with one detail attention to sustainability, a transversal principle to all innovation activities.
Furthermore, this year the search for innovative ideas will be even more capillary on the territory and will aim to involve all the corporate functions present on the national territory: in particular, they are foreseen dedicated meetings to the people of "Installation Unit", the Group's offices located throughout the country, where mainly technicians and operators work who can concretely contribute to the generation of the best solutions to optimize Terna's business and grid management and maintenance activities.
At the end of the process, the best initiatives will be transformed into real projects capable of generating added value for company activities.
Who can participate
The program is addressed to the people of the Group Terna. To participate in the initiative, it is necessary to enter the Terna Ideas – Corporate Entrepreneurship platform and click on “Join the call”. It will be possible propose an idea, individually or in teams creating a startup or you can take part like contributor, selecting an idea and asking the proposer to be part of his team, thus making the skills available. To continue along the path, a team of at least three people must eventually be formed. There is time to present your idea until 23.59 pm on 8 May 2023.
The Terna Ideas project
Il Terna Ideas programme was launched for the first time in 2021. In two previous editions saw the active participation of 640 people from the Group. A total of 228 ideas were published, of which 24 followed a dedicated incubation development. For the seven winning ideas, three in 2021 and four in 2022, the road to design development was then opened. In the last edition 2022, 250 participated with 85 candidate ideas. Since last year, the Terna Ideas platform has become one open innovation tool, also open to the external ecosystem. On the Terna platform, it has also launched a challenge on the topic of “Data Science for Resilience”, for the search for solutions capable of enhancing the company's data assets and to support activities in the field of predictive maintenance and monitoring of electrical infrastructures.
