Telefonica goes out, Telecom down in Piazza Affari

Telefonica is preparing to leave Telecom after the preliminary go-ahead, by the Brazilian Antitrust, for the purchase of Gvt (Vivendi group). When the definitive ok arrives from the Cade, Telefonica will proceed with the sale of its shares in Telecom Italia within four months. This was announced by Cade himself, who yesterday gave the first conditional green light to the operation, worth 7,2 billion euros.

Telecom Italia stock was affected by the Telefonica affair this morning in Piazza Affari. The stock lost 12,45% at 1,38, remaining below 1,07 euro per share.
