Telecom: Lessons on Progress and PappanoinWeb in live streaming

Ten meetings to bring new generations closer to science and explain how and why scientific culture can change our lives. To organize this cycle of meetings, call Progress Lessons, is the Telecom Italia Foundation, which confirms its commitment to the benefit of the dissemination of scientific and technological culture.

The lessons will take place at the Teatro Palladium in Rome and each meeting will have to theme an aspect of the evolution of human knowledge and will see flanked by an exceptional protagonist from the world of research and a popular character among the general public, in an attempt to combine scientific interest with a popular register accessible to all guests.

The first appointment is for tonight 12 October with the lesson "Nanotechnologies and new materials, let's talk about a better life" that will see talk about the physical Roberto Cingolani, scientific director of the Italian Institute of Technology in Genoa together with the actress Claudia Gerini.

For now, the program of the first five lessons has been published. The next four will be held monthly from November to February and will have guests of the caliber of Antonio Albanese and Elio for the entertainment world and Giorgio Metta and Giuseppe Novelli for the scientific one.

Leading the meetings will be Natasha Stefanenko in the dual role of entertainer and metallurgical engineering graduate. The entire event, which will touch on topics such as neuroscience, robots and genetics, will be broadcast live streaming on the Telecom Italia Foundation website (www.fondazionetelecomitalia.it/lezionesulprogresso).

But the Lessons on Progress are not the only initiative of the Telecom galaxy accessible to all through live streaming. Tonight, in fact, "PappanoinWeb" also kicks off (telecomitalia.com/pappanoinweb), the project that brings great classical music to the web thanks to Tim's technological platforms.

So tonight, from 20.30, it will be offered in live streaming, from Sala Santa Cecilia of the Parco della Musica Auditorium in Rome, the concert directed by Antonio Pappano featuring music by Gaspare Spontini (Olympie – Overture) and Ludwig van Beethoven (Symphony n. 2 and Symphony n. 5).

The initiative will involve a total of four concerts, which will be broadcast entirely in live streaming and thanks to the "360° panoramic" filming technology, usable from tablets and smartphones (iOS, Android), the web viewer will have the sensation of actually being present in the room. Each concert proposed by "PappanoinWeb" will also be available on demand until 31 December 2016.
