An Italian train, a Eurocity 158, derailed just before the station of Lucerne, in Switzerland. The cantonal police report at least seven injured.

There were about 160 passengers on board the train, writes the website of La Tribune de Genève. The train hit a pylon and the station lost power. Rail traffic is stopped until tonight. The causes of the accident are not known at the moment.

Number for relatives of passengers – Swiss Railways has set up a number – 0800 722 233 – available to people who believe they have relatives among the passengers on the train from Milan and derailed in Lucerne. This was reported by Swiss Radio and Television on its website. Users, adds Rsi, can instead get information on 0800 99 66 33.
