Sport, music and literature: the contribution of Intesa San Paolo to Bookcity Milano 2017

Intesa Sanpaolo, Main Partner also of the sixth edition of BookCity Milan, actively participates in the cultural-editorial initiative to be held from 17 to 19 November next, collaborating in the realization of the following events, with free admission:

  • Saturday 18 November, 11 am, at the Intesa Sanpaolo branch in Piazza Cordusio, meeting on the theme "Giants of basketball", inspired by the prestigious Italian basketball magazine of the same name. Dino and Andrea Meneghin, Carlo Recalcati and Dan Peterson, historic protagonists of basketball, will give life to a tale of sporting stories and anecdotes. The journalists Franco and Giulia Arturi coordinate. During the morning, jazz music interludes by the Zamboni duo (Marco Carboni, guitar; Stefano Zambon, double bass).
  • Saturday 18 November, 15.30 pm, in Sala Buzzati – Fondazione Corriere della Sera, screening of the docufilm “Thirty years later. Primo Levi and his stories ”, wanted by Intesa Sanpaolo to commemorate the thirtieth anniversary of the death of the narrator who has become a contemporary classic, read and loved all over the world. Levi, who lived a life full of adventures, marked by imprisonment in Auschwitz, was also a man of science and thinker of international standing. Participant Marco Belpoliti. Following this, at 16,30 pm, the magazine Riga, dedicated to Primo Levi, will be presented.
  • Sunday 19 November, 11 am, in the Ridotto dei palchi “A. Toscanini" of the Teatro alla Scala, meeting on the theme "Before the Preview" for the presentation of the opera Andrea Chénier by Umberto Giordano, which will inaugurate the opera season of the theater, as well as on 7 December, also on Sunday 3 December with a dedicated evening exclusively to young people under the age of thirty. Alberto Mattioli will dialogue with Filippo Del Corno and Lanfranco Li Cauli. The "Under 30s at the Teatro alla Scala" project, supported by Intesa Sanpaolo, a supporting founding member of the theatre, is aimed at bringing a young and wider audience closer to musical culture.
  • Sunday 19 November, 15.30 pm, at the Strehler Theater: theatrical reading by and with Daniel Pennac entitled "The Malaussène Case - They lied to me", taken from the latest novel by the French writer, who after about twenty years has chosen to return to story of the Malaussène, bringing together three generations. The show, presented in world premiere in the Intesa Sanpaolo skyscraper in Turin on May 18, is in French and Italian. In addition to Pennac, Massimiliano Barbini and Pako Ioffredo will be on stage. Music by Alice Pennacchioni.

Intesa Sanpaolo's support for BookCity Milano is part of a broader project to support the cultural initiatives of the communities in which the Bank operates, and constitutes a concrete way of contributing to the development of the country.
