Surprise Al Qaeda-Isis: the alliance against the United States and the West is now possible

Al Qaeda, in its formations in the Magherb (Aqmi) and in the Arabian Peninsula (Aqap), has sent a clear signal to Isis terrorists asking them to unite in a common anti-Western front, with the United States as enemy number one. The two main groups of Al Qaeda turn the page on the anti-Isis line adopted so far.

Surprise Al Qaeda-Isis: the alliance against the United States and the West is now possible

Anti-US and anti-West united front. This disturbing scenario for the future of the fight against terrorism seems to be unfolding after the call of the two major groups of Al Qaeda to Isis to unite in the crusade against "the American countryside and its evil coalition that threatens us all". Aqmi and Aqap, respectively the jihadist sections of the Islamic Maghreb and the Arabian Peninsula, have changed course with respect to the indications of Osama Bin Laden's heir, Ayman al Zawahiri, who have so far kept the jihadist formation away from ISI terrorists.

“Make unity against infidel nations your raison d'etre against them – exhorts Al Qaeda in its appeal addressed to all Islamist and terrorist forces in the Middle East. "Stop killing each other and put differences aside for the common cause of America's defeat" concludes the text.

Meanwhile, on the Western front the condemnation of terrorist movements is becoming more and more concrete and, above all, consistent. On the one hand, the United States has begun surprise aerial bombardments around the city of Baghdad, in coordination with the Iraqi command. On the other, yesterday's summit in Paris of 30 states, from which the intention to stop the ISIS terrorists with all necessary means is clear. These are the words of the French Foreign Minister, Laurent Fabius: “The Islamic State is neither a state, nor does it represent Islam, it is an extremely dangerous movement. Everyone on the spot deems it necessary to make him retreat or disappear. [...] Not only to push back the terrorists of Daesh [Isis, ed], the Islamic state, but to defeat them".
