Sorin acquires leads business from Oscor for $15,4 million

Sorin has completed the acquisition of the leads business of the US company Oscor for a total value of 15,4 million. The announcement was made by the Italian company active in the production of medical equipment, which thanks to this acquisition believes it will be able to generate additional revenues and consolidate the offer of stimulation leads compatible with magnetic resonance, to better adapt to new needs of the market.

“The acquisition – commented Stefano Di Lullo, president of the Crm Business Unit – represents an extraordinary opportunity for Sorin. Oscor-branded and OEM leads are high-quality products that allow us to expand our current product portfolio and meet the future needs of our customers with MRI-compatible systems.”

The agreement also includes a production plant in the Dominican Republic: "It will allow us to provide our customers with high quality products at the best possible value".

The purchase of the US company's assets does not seem to have warmed the hearts of the market: in the late morning, in fact, the Sorin share dropped more than 2% in Piazza Affari, on a negative day so far for the Italian stock market.
