FIA and Pirelli have signed a new four-year collaboration agreement which is part of the "FIA Action for Road Safety" programme. As part of the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020, established by the United Nations to remedy the millions of deaths on the roads every year, Fia Action for Road Safety is the global campaign aimed at educating people, informing and promoting special initiatives for achieve the goal of safer roads and cars, as well as incentivize more responsible driving behaviour. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), road accidents are the leading cause of death in the population between 15 and 29 years of age.
As Global Partner of this campaign, Pirelli will work, among other things, to promote the dissemination of the FIA "10 Golden Rules" within its distribution networks and launch training programs and projects to raise awareness of safe driving which will be conveyed through the Fia clubs in the world

For his part, FIA President Jean Todt said: “I am delighted that Pirelli is supporting the FIA Action for Road Safety programme. By working together with our clubs around the world, with this partnership we will be able to spread the message of road safety to an even larger audience." The FIA-Pirelli partnership agreement extends the existing collaboration between the parties, in relation to the FIA Mobility Conferences and the FIA Sport Conferences.
