Fit Cisl, the transport union, has called a strike by Ryanair's flight crew operating in Italy for next Friday 27 October. "The mass flight of pilots from Ryanair evidently did not help to make the Irish company understand that something needs to be changed," said Emiliano Fiorentino, national secretary of the union.
“Our work aims to put the company in front of its responsibilities regarding the lack of rights and protections of its employees – continued Fiorentino. “It is a pity that the Irish company does not seem to want to understand nor does it want to establish correct industrial relations”.
Unrest also in England, where informal invitations to strike had been circulating among employees in recent days.
