Scrapping folders, incoming deadline: here's what you need to know

The last day to pay the sums due (the entire amount or only the first installment) is July 31st – New service from the tax authorities: answers to requests for scrapping are now just a click away.

For those who have joined the scrapping of tax bills, the deadline for paying the amounts due to the tax authorities is approaching. The law allows you to pay in a single solution or in installments (from one up to a maximum of 5), but the date to remember is always the same: 31 July 2017, the last day to pay the full amount or the first installment.

Taxpayers who have joined the scrapping have received the payment slips of the installments chosen when completing Form DA1. The amount, the payment deadline and the RAV code are indicated on each slip.

THE RESPONSES OF THE IRS AT A CLICK

Meanwhile, a new Revenue Agency-Collection web service is being launched to request online a copy of the communication sent to taxpayers in response to the request for the scrapping of the folders. The copy of the communication was already available from 16 June in the private area, but is now also available in the public area of the website www.agenziaentrateriscossione.gov.it, therefore without the need to enter a pin and password.

In fact, it is sufficient to fill in the "Request communication" form in the section of the site dedicated to the facilitated definition. Just enter your tax code, attach the necessary documentation for recognition and indicate the e-mail box where you wish to receive the communication. The communication request in the public area of the portal is a new service to allow taxpayers to easily have all the information needed for the first (or only) payment.

WHAT DO YOU PAY?

In general, the scrapping of the folders provides that those who have joined pay the residual amount of the sums initially requested by the tax authorities, but not the penalties or default interest. On the other hand, the interest on late payments and the increases established by law will not be paid on road fines.

HOW DO YOU PAY?

The payment channels are different:

– ATMs of credit institutions that have joined the CBILL payment services of the CBI Consortium (Customer to Business Interaction).

– Direct debit (but be careful: to subscribe to the direct debit service on a current account, the request must be presented to the account holder's bank at least 20 days before the expiry of the installment).

– Bank branches.

– Internet banking.

- Post offices.

– Tobacconists affiliated with Banca 5 SpA, through the Sisal and Lottomatica circuits.

– The www.agenziaentrateriscossione.gov.it portal via PagoPa the Equiclick App via PagoPa.

– One of the 200 Revenue Agency-Collection branches.

HOW DO THE INSTALLMENTS WORK?

The law allows you to pay in a single solution or in installments (from one to five). In the second case, 70% of the amount due must be paid in 2017 and the remaining 30% next year.

Anyone who doesn't pay an installment or does it late loses the benefits provided by the scrapping of the folders. In these cases, therefore, the tax authorities will resume normal collection activities, obviously deducting any installments already paid by the taxpayer from the total debt.
