Renzi: "We're wasting time, the world is asking us to run"

"We're losing time while the world asks us to run at double speed”. As Matteo Renzi, mayor of Florence, commented this morning on the Italian political and institutional stalemate during a meeting at the Chamber of Labor in the Tuscan capital.

“The politics that can't run continues to propose solutions that it is then unable to materialize – he added -. We mayors know well how much we are suffering from the stability pact. Time is up, so many businesses are on the verge of the end. We need political credibility and answers on labor issues, or we risk losing our way home. By now we must take note that the hourglass is running out".

Meanwhile, the president of the Chamber, Laura Boldrini, announced that on Monday 15 April she will convene the Parliament in joint session to begin the procedures that will lead to theelection of the new President of the Republic. The first session will be held on Thursday 18, "trusting that the obligations relating to the designation by the Regions of their delegates will be carried out as quickly as possible".
