Renzi: “Goodbye Equitalia within the year. We work for the EBA in Milan”

“The decree will arrive within the year which will definitively change the relationship between the tax authorities and citizens and Equitalia will no longer exist. It's not that fines are no longer paid, but they will be paid differently. The fact that I haven't talked about it again doesn't mean it won't happen, I confirm that bye bye Equitalia by the end of the year”. Prime Minister Matteo Renzi said this this morning to the microphones of Rtl 102,5.

With reference to the United Kingdom's exit from the EU, “the fact of Brexit is a slowdown in the European economy – continued the Premier – but I am convinced that it will do more harm to them than to us. For example us we are trying with Beppe Sala to bring a few financial institutions that are in London to Milan”, as theNot (European Banking Authority) and the European Medicines Agency (Ema) for which Lazio has applied.

On the EU side, then, Renzi added that "Italy is not the sick person of Europe. This is no longer the case: all together, with Merkel, Hollande, we can do a good job, as long as there is respect for us".

As for the situation of banks Renzi reassures: “The agreement with the EU is at hand. Mps account holders sleep peacefully. Some bankers a little less”.

Finally, on the constitutional reform, the Premier puts an end to the controversies of the last few days: “The referendum, the unpacking, the prize for the party or the coalition… All things that affect the future of politicians who are interested in their chair, in their place. But people are interested in jobs."
