Campania Region, a new digital platform for Culture

Campania Region, a new digital platform for Culture

The portal is a hub through which you can access all the sections and services of the digital ecosystem for culture of the Campania Region. In the current exceptional situation, the Region has brought forward the publication of the portal to allow citizens to access cultural content from home.

Enjoy landscapes and cultural sites from a drone perspective; delve into the beauty and heritage of the region, obtaining all the information on points of interest; receive news on events and cultural events; consult all the geolocated catalog cards stored in the Ecosystem database. These are just some of the possibilities offered by the new service platform made available to administrations, operators, researchers and citizens, who can access the regional culture and artistic and historical heritage as never before.

Within the Ecosystem, some thematic sections have already been made public and will expand over time. LaEntertainment Media Library, created in collaboration with the Campania dei Festival Foundation and dedicated to the performing arts of the Region, collects cataloging and photographic material relating to theatrical shows and projects that animate the Campania region.

The Ecosystem hosts alsothe Atlas of Cinema, an inventory of Italian and international film productions that made Campania famous. The Atlas was created in partnership with the Campania Region Film Commission in order to reveal the most prestigious titles and the most iconic places in the history of cinema shot and produced in the region.

The section dedicated to Cultural Events it is aimed at enhancing the work of all the bodies and operators who constantly contribute to making cultural heritage and activities usable through the events and reviews organized during the course of the year.

In addition to the new portal, the Artecard app is also available – developed for Scabec, an in-house company of the Campania Region – for using the cultural initiatives present in the area.

In the future, the portal will be expanded with new technologies and functions. Internet of Things, Big Data, Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality they will allow citizens to consult and interact with culture from any device, at the same time providing the Region with useful data to improve the cultural promotion and management service.

The new digital platform of the region is much more than a web portal and an app: it is an evolving ecosystem, constantly fed with information, data and events, which will strengthen the connections and synergies between the various actors of the cultural scene present in the area and they will thus become part of an open data cultural community. Furthermore, the new Campanian cultural ecosystem will be fully integrated and interoperable with the main enabling platforms promoted by the Agency for Digital Italy (AgID) at national level.
