Referendum, Alfano: ready to postpone after the earthquake

"We have not asked for any postponement of the electoral date" for the constitutional referendum on 4 December, but "should part of the opposition be willing to evaluate a hypothesis of this kind, I am convinced that it would be a gesture to be taken into the highest consideration" . This was stated by the Minister of the Interior, Angelino Alfano, speaking on Rtl 102.5, commenting on the news that appeared today in the newspapers on the possibility of postponing the referendum.

Alfano, speaking as the head of the New Centre-right, explained that "the political position of Forza Italia, led by Berlusconi, which also had to suffer the earthquake in L'Aquila during its management of the country, knows well how much priority and indispensable it becomes to go to the place of the earthquake and how much also from the point of view of the public spirit it becomes to carry out an electoral campaign that separates a country at a time when maximum unity is needed".
