The new inclusion income (Rei) is proving successful especially in the South. From December 2st (the date from which requests can be sent) until January 75.885nd, INPS received 16.686 applications. The same Social Security Institute communicates it, specifying that the Regions from which the greatest number of requests have been transmitted are Campania, with 22 (equal to 16.366% of the total), and Sicily, with 21,4 (10.606%) . Calabria follows with 14,0 applications (XNUMX%).

Almost the same number of applications arrived from Lombardy and Lazio: 5.338 (7,0%) and 5.237 (6,9%). At the opposite end of the ranking there is a strange couple: Puglia and the Autonomous Province of Trento, from which no questions have been sent. From the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, on the other hand, only eight applications arrived.

The inclusion income has been operational since January 660st and there are potentially over XNUMX families with the requisites to obtain it.

Here is a short guide with everything you need to know.

WHAT IS THE INCLUSION INCOME

It is a national welfare measure aimed at combating poverty. To access you must have the Rei card, on which an amount is loaded every month. The card, with which it is possible to purchase a series of goods, can also be used as an ATM to withdraw up to half of the monthly amount disbursed.

Not only that: the rei also provides a personalized project for social and work inclusion. The goal is to help families in need to get out of poverty.

THE REQUIREMENTS

The Rei is intended for families with minors, the disabled, pregnant women four months after giving birth and the over 55s who are unemployed.

To be eligible, the following economic requirements are foreseen for families:

  • ISEE equal to or less than 6 thousand euros and an equivalent income equal to or less than 3 thousand euros;
  • real estate assets (excluding the house where you live) of a value not exceeding 20 thousand euros;
  • assets of a value not exceeding 10 euros, which become 8 for couples and 6 for individuals.

There are also non-financial requirements.
The following will be able to access the Rei:

  • Italian citizens;
  • EU citizens;
  • family members of Italian or EU citizens who do not have citizenship in an EU state;
  • holders of the right of permanent residence;
  • foreign citizens in possession of the EC residence permit for long-term residents;
  • holders of international protection (political asylum, subsidiary protection) residing in Italy for at least two years at the time of submitting the application.

AMOUNT AND DURATION

The amount of the Rei will range from a minimum of 187,5 euros per month to a maximum of 485,4 euros (5.824,80 a year), the same amount as the INPS social allowance. The weight of the allowance varies according to the composition of the family nucleus and the coexistence with other welfare treatments.

The inclusion income will be paid for 18 months, after which it cannot be renewed before another six months have elapsed. In case of renewal, however, the maximum duration drops to 12 months.

HOW TO APPLY

Applications can be submitted to the Municipality, which must verify that the requirements are met within 10 working days and forward the request to INPS. The National Social Security Institute in turn carries out checks, to then move on to disbursement through the Rei card.
