Alessandro Profumo, CEO of Leonardo will appeal against the first instance ruling who condemned him, together with Maurizio Viola, for the activity at the top of Banca Mps of which he was president until 2015. "The work that has characterized my whole life, without exception, has always been based on correctness , maximum transparency, sense of institutions and respect for the companies that I have had the honor of leading", wrote the manager in a letter to Leonardo's employees.
“The recent news of my first instance conviction in the trial relating to my previous role in MPS – Profumo writes again – understandably embittered me, but it hasn't affected my peace of mind. With full confidence in Italian justice, I await to know the reasons for the sentence for appeal and see the values that have always animated my personal and professional action affirmed”.
“Il our business plan, in the service of the country, remains theprimary objective to be pursued with enthusiasm, responsibility and maximum commitment, starting with mine”, concludes Profumo.
After the Mps sentence, Leonardo's board of directors met and confirmed its trust in the CEO, Profumo, giving a mandate to the governance committee to monitor the judicial matter and update the directors. For the group, no "specific limitations on the company's activity" emerged.
