Sharply increasing petrol and diesel prices: 2 euros on the motorway

Tensions in Libya and the tightening of sanctions on Iran cause oil prices to soar and the increases have repercussions on the cost of fuel

Sharply increasing petrol and diesel prices: 2 euros on the motorway

Increase the price of fuel. This news is expected, unfortunately for motorists, after Donald Trump's decision to tighten sanctions against China which caused oil prices to soar. A few days ago, the US president in fact established a halt to the exemptions that allowed eight countries, including Italy, to import black gold from Tehran. The continued tensions in Libya are also weighing heavily, with Haftar's troops having been rejected 60 km from Tripoli.

A "combined arrangement" that causes the cost of fuel to soar. On the eve of the bridge on 25 April, when millions of motorists get into their cars to spend their holidays, they will find a bad "surprise" on the motorway: the price of petrol has exceeded 2 euros per litre on the A1 Milan-Naples, reaching 2,041 euros per liter in the east Lucignano (Arezzo) area, and 2,051 euros per liter in the west Arno (Florence). The peak is reached in San Pietro (Naples), where petrol costs 2,071 euros per litre. 2,020 the price San Zenone east (Milan). The increases were detected by the Fuel Observatory of the Ministry of Economic Development.

Daily energy reports today, April 24, increases of 1 cent per liter on diesel and petrol for Eni, Ip and Italia Petroli. In general, according to the elaboration of the journal specialized in energy information on data from the Mise Observatory, the national average price charged in self-service mode for petrol is 1,618 euros per litre, with variations between the various brands from 1,618 to 1,633 euros per liter (no-logo at 1,598). The average price of diesel is 1,508 euros per litre, with the companies going from 1,509 to 1,518 euros per liter (no-logo at 1,486). As regards the fuel served, the average price for unleaded petrol is 1,750 euros per litre, (no-logo at 1,643), that for diesel is 1,643 euros per litre. Lastly, LPG ranges from 0,637 to 0,663 euros per liter (no-logo at 0,632).

Obviously we must consider that it is not only the cost of the raw material that weighs on the price of diesel and petrol, but also and above all the tax burden applied by the State on fuels, for years now at the highest level in Europe.
