Pop Vicenza, Zonin in commission: "I lost money too"

The former president of Popolare di Vicenza, Gianni Zonin, still under investigation for insider trading and obstruction of supervision in the context of a trial that started with the complaint of 700 savers, was heard in the evening by the parliamentary commission investigating bank crashes, in this case on that of the Venetian institution to which savers had entrusted the bank with life savings sure to subscribe to armored bonds but had been kept unaware of the risks.

After two years, the prosecutors have asked for the trial of seven people: in addition to Zonin, also the former CEO Samuele Sorato, the then director Giuseppe Zigliotto, and the three former deputy directors Emanuele Giustini, Andrea Piazzetta and Paolo Marin , the manager who physically drew up the budget, Massimiliano Pellegrini. Today, before the interrogation was classified, Zonin's testimony was somewhat incomplete: "Unfortunately, I too lost some money", he said as he entered the hearing, during which he then replied with many "I don't remember" to the questions MPs.
