The evening, as part of the summer event Astrosummer 2013, will offer the audience the thrill ofobservation of distant stellar explosions in real time with the Virtual Telescope of the Bellatrix Observatory and the comments on the session by one of the leading Italian experts in the field, theastrophysicist Massimo Della Valle, currently director of the Capodimonte Astronomical Observatory in Naples.
From 21: 00 23 to: 00 In short, it will be possible to participate in a real scientific research, complete with measurements of light intensity and spectral characteristics of the objects under examination, in order to understand the nature and the extreme distance of the investigated phenomena. By spying on the collapse of large stars, we will also touch the process of formation of the famous black holes and neutron stars first hand, revealing a dynamic and constantly changing cosmos.
This first appointment will be followed by two more in the coming weeks, to investigate the dimensions of the Universe by studying the redshift of distant galaxies e quasar and reasoning on the evolution of the universe since the Big Bang (July 28: Unveiling the CosmosWith the participation of Paul de Bernardis) and finally to indirectly observe the light of extrasolar worlds and calculate their mass and dimensions (August 25: Alien PlanetsIn the company of Giovanna tinetti).
Reservations on 060608 are strongly recommended and expire 15 minutes before the start of the show.
