Pensioners, Inps: Cud 2013 on the web or by mail

I pensioners of Italy have one more reason to become friends of technology. From this year theINPS start a new telematics project: sending the Cud via email. The innovation will be valid only for those who have a certified email address. All the others will instead be able to download the document for completing the 730 from website of the National Insurance Institute, in the "services to the citizen" section. This was announced by INPS itself in a circular implementing the 2013 Stability Law.

An incursion of modernity into Italian bureaucracy that would probably make the youngest happy, but seriously risks creating many problems for those who have already retired. Suffice it to say that in 2012 only a third of pensioners aged between 60 and 64 used the Internet. And the fraction goes down as age increases.

To overcome these difficulties, however, retirees will also be able to receive the Cud via ordinary mail, but only if they expressly request it. It will also be possible to collect the document at the local INPS offices, the computer workstations of the various offices of the social security institution or in the Cafs.

As far as employees are concerned, however, the 2013 Cud must be delivered by the employers by 28 February.
