Pd, what an own goal to support the Rays

The soft line inaugurated by the secretary of the Democratic Party Zingaretti towards the disastrous Raggi administration in Rome surprised most: by chasing the Five Stars, the Democratic Party risks a boomerang

Pd, what an own goal to support the Rays

It may also be that the unprecedented soft line adopted by the secretary of the Democratic Party, Nicola Zingaretti, towards the mayor of Rome, Virginia Raggi, by far the worst mayor of the capital in the company of the neo-fascist Alemanno, was functional in the search for an agreement with the Five Stars in the Lazio region or in view of the elections in Emilia, but it was surprising and it remains surprising.

The Giunta grillina of Rome is hated in the capital because it has buried the city with garbage and potholes in the streets, has definitively destroyed the transport system, has not built a single new infrastructure in three years, has not been able to solve the problem of the new stadium of Rome and clearly lost the comparison with Milan, letting slip the opportunity of the Olympics that would have brought thousands of jobs. Not to mention the endless judicial quarrels and scandals that have invested both the Municipality and its municipal companies and the continuous upheavals in the departments.

Faced with this disaster, it would be logical to expect the secretary of the Democratic Party to ask for the resignation of Mayor Raggi and instead, interviewed the other night by Lilli Gruber in "Otto e mezzo" on La7, Zingaretti replied seraphically: "Resign? Raggi should address issues that have been unresolved for too long with more decision and collegiality". Decision? Collegiality? But if one is incapable, it remains so and the three years of administration of the Capital have abundantly demonstrated it. So much so that Zingaretti was then forced to correct the shot a bit: "The Democratic Party remains the main protagonist of the opposition to the Raggi and the Capital needs an alternative". But by now the signal had been sent and the Renzians went on the attack: "It is incredible – said the Honorable Luciano Nobili – that the secretary of the Democratic Party does not ask for the resignation of Mayor Raggi: we will continue to ask for it forcefully".

The Democratic Party will have done its calculations but giving up fighting against the disastrous Raggi administration is a risky move. Exactly how the gregariousness with which - with rare exceptions - the Democratic Party experiences the government experience in Conte 2 is revealing itself. After the cut in parliamentarians, Zingaretti would be ready to follow Grillo's populism also on the one-way justice reform and on the handcuffs to the evaders in view of the construction, as Dario Franceschini proposes, of a common house with the Five Stars? If this were the case, it would be difficult to understand why a voter who likes the populist option should vote for Pd and not directly for the Five Stars.

  1. But still continue with this nonsense and falsehoods of the holes, of the "rubbish", of the stadium, of transport and -hear, hear- of the Olympics?!!! When even the stones, by now, know that these are thirty-year problems, inherited from the current junta. When even the stones, by now, know that the potholes in Rome have been there for at least twenty years and the Raggi junta is "IN TERMS OF THE LAW" and not as it was done before (when it was done) with opaque if not completely obscure under-the-table agreements with "friends of friends", reclaiming many damaged roads in Rome. When even the stones, by now, know that garbage is also a decades-long problem in the capital and this joint little by little is also solving this age-old problem in a LEGAL and transparent way, not as it happened before. Certainly not without difficulty. And attempts at sabotage such as that of city transport, even that steeped in corruption for many years.
And you also have the effrontery to talk about the Olympics saying that Rome "has clearly lost the comparison with Milan, letting slip the opportunity of the Olympics"! Maybe like, for example, the great opportunity "won" by Milan for the Expo? With all the remaining debts, the scandals, the Ndrangheta infiltrations and the huge burden, in economic terms, that will inevitably fall on the citizens in the end? Not to mention the environmental degradation, as well as the uselessness of many structures, which were never finished, for the fair? Is it perhaps this “comparison” you are referring to? So, if this were the case, the real winner of the comparison would be Rome and not Milan! Use the Olympics as smoke and mirrors for the unwary, Olympics that would have been convenient and brought "advantage" to the usual "respectable" businessmen, weighing down the already (before Mayor Raggi) deficit budget of the capital, by several billion euros , thus leaving, as a natural and obvious consequence, an enormous per capita debt on the shoulders of the Roman citizens and of Italy as a whole. And as a side effect of a wicked choice (that of holding the Olympics as you irresponsibly suggest) a consequent degradation of primary services: kindergartens, schools, health care, social services, etc.? You distort and misrepresent the facts in a shameful and tendentious way, trying to fish in the murky and making sinister populism, exactly what you, like so many other "newspapers" of your kind, accuse the M5S of. You should be ashamed, even if I know you won't succeed…
