Pasticceria Cova aims to expand in Europe and the USA

From via Montenapoleone to the United States. Pasticceria Cova – historic Milanese place that has hosted from Mazzini to Hemingway, from Verdi to Puccini – aims at an increasingly international dimension and does not exclude listing on the Stock Exchange. A step made possible also by the fact that in 2013 control of the company passed to Lvmh, the French luxury giant which owns 80% of Cova in its portfolio.

“When we sold to Lvmh – Paola Faccioli, CEO of Pasticceria Cova, and holder, with her sister Daniela, of the remaining 20% of the capital, told the Radiocor agency – we did it both to better deal with the generational transition with dad ( Mario Faccioli, who in 1989 took over Cova from the previous owners, ed) who could no longer take care of everything, both to have opportunities to develop our brand. We are many things: pastry, chocolate, breakfast, lunch, aperitifs, panettone".

There have been opportunities for growth, so much so that now 50% of Pasticceria Cova's turnover is linked abroad. “Thanks to Lvmh – continues Faccioli – we are stronger in the world, more connected and with easier opportunities. We opened in Dubai for a month and a half, while we are already present in China and Japan. Now I'd like to explore the United States, I'm thinking of New York, California and Florida”.

Faccioli doesn't say too much about the times, but underlines that the expansion will come "soon": first in the US, then in Europe, London and Paris in primis. After that, the quotation on Piazza Affari could arrive. “We haven't talked about the Stock Exchange with our partner Lvmh yet – says Paola Faccioli – but why not? But first we still have to pedal”.
