Panettone Maximo: Bad Companies and Barberini Pastry the best in Lazio

Panettone Maximo: Bad Companies and Barberini Pastry the best in Lazio

The best traditional artisan panettone made for this Christmas in Lazio are from Bofitt - Bad Compagnie - of Santa Severa and Pasticceria Barberini in Rome. in the Panettone with chocolate category, the prize went instead to Pasticceria Patrizi (Fiumicino, Rome),

This was the judgment of the jury of Panettone Maximo, the Capitoline event that celebrates and rewards panettone, the "king" of the Christmas holiday table. The challenge between the pastry chefs of Rome and Lazio took place at the Boscolo Circo Massimo, finally back in presence which allowed a large audience to be able to taste the panettone in the competition. 

The Panettone Festival in Rome and Lazio was organized by RistorAgency with the support of Azienda Agrimontana, Molino Dallagiovanna and Caviale Giaveri.

The third prize for the traditional Panettone went to the Cakao pastry shop (Cisterna di Latina).

In the Chocolate Panettone section, second place went to Casa Manfredi (Rome), and third place to Cakao (Cisterna di Latina) followed by Zest (Ardea, Rome) and Un sack greedy (Pontinia, Latina).

The jury of experts was made up of authoritative master pastry chefs, including two world pastry champions: Fabrizio Donatone and Francesco Boccia; the pastry chef Attilio Servi and Angelo Di Masso; the pastry chefs Fabrizio Fiorani, Dario Nuti and Marion Lichtle and the chocolatier Valerio Esposito.

Three special prizes were also awarded: Best Packaging was judged by D'Antoni since 1974 (Rome), followed by Le Levain (Rome), second, Casa Manfredi (Rome), third, Panificio Nazzareno (Rome), fourth , Con.tro Contemporary Bistrot (Rome), fifth.

Casa Manfredi (Rome) ranked first for Best Digital Communication, followed by Le Levain (Rome), D'Antoni (Rome), Max Pasticceria (Rome), and Cocco Sweet Lab (Rieti). Instead, they received the Audience Award: Le Levain (Rome) first; Maciste (Cori, Latina) second; D'Antoni (Rome), third; Max Pasticceria (Rome), fourth and Casa del dolce (San Felice Circeo, Latina) fifth.

Fabio Carnevali, creator of the festival which aims to make the best of panettone craftsmanship known, underlined: “Lazio, with the pastry shops of Rome and the provincial towns, great surprises of this edition in terms of the number of awards obtained, is once again confirmed once the protagonist in Italy of the artisanal excellence of the most appreciated dessert of the holidays. This event aims to reward the commitment of those who carry out the work of enhancing the quality of the confectionary gastronomic offer of our region. This year Panettone Maximo has once again become a face-to-face event, registering great interest from the public, who flocked to taste and buy the most popular leavened product on Christmas tables”.
