Olivetti Design Contest 2019 rewards young students

These are projects presented by fifty young university students and twenty-one finalists, all involved in a project that saw the creation of a smart chair and a fiscal printer.

Olivetti Design Contest 2019 rewards young students

On the occasion of the Salone del Mobile and Milan Design Week 2019, the winning projects of the third edition were awarded of the Olivetti Design Contest, the digital pole of the TIM Group.

The Jury which was chaired by Pierantonio Macola, President of Smau, and was composed of Emanuele Cappelli, Designer; Beniamino De Liguori Carino, Secretary General of the Olivetti Foundation; Gaetano di Tondo, Olivetti Institutional and External Relations Director; Cristina Ghiringhello, Director of Confindustria Canavese; Luca Josi, Director of Brand Strategy Media & Multimedia Entertainment TIM; Alberto Mattiacci, Full Professor of Marketing and Business Management at Sapienza University of Rome; Marco Sabetta, General Manager of the Milan Furniture Fair; Stefano Sertoli, Mayor of the City of Ivrea, evaluated the projects based on originality, functionality/ergonomics and aesthetic value, thus choosing the winners in this way

The first prize for the smart chair (worth 2.000 Euros) was awarded to “Opus” created by Lorenzo Gordini and Nicola D'Armento, students of RUFA. (Rome University of Fine Arts); the second prize (1.500 Euros) to the “OFFICE Home CHAIR” project by Valentina Rossi, Martina Marcolin and Valentina Parbioni of RUFA; the third prize (1.000 Euros) to the “Manta 910” project by Davide Franzoni, Nicolò Rovera, Guglielmo Rossi Scot of IAAD – Institute of Applied Art and Design of Turin;

instead, for the tax printer, the first prize (worth 2.000 Euros) went to “Cochlea” created by Margherita Belli, Nunzia Campana, Davide Conti and Gaia Gradilone, of RUFA; the second prize (1.500 Euros) to the “Fiscal Printer” project by Alessandro Belotti and Paolo Cavagna of IED Milan; the third prize (1.000 Euros) to the "Orca" project by Giulia Mosca, Claudia Guagnano, Lara Di Benedetto and Giulietta Baldini of RUFA. 

In addition, the winners of the first prize in each project category are also provided with two internships at the Claudio Bellini Design+Design studio.
