Napolitano-bis begins today, the new government will come this week

Solved the Colle problem, we think again about the Government. The second term at the Quirinale officially begins today Giorgio Napolitano, that at 17 he will take the oath on the constitution before the Chambers gathered in joint session in Montecitorio. The newly re-elected Head of State will therefore have to open a new round of consultations between the parties to try to form the Executive, but this time the talks should be very rapid: no more than 24 hours. The Pd therefore - after the resignation of Pier Luigi Bersani - will have to quickly appoint the new secretary, who will accompany the two group leaders to Colle. We could already meet the new government team on Wednesday.

The option that at the moment seems more probable is that of an Executive of broad agreements formed by Pd, Pdl, Lega and Civic Choice. It could be presided over by Giuliano Amato or Enrico Letta, while the ministers should include various technicians, including some members of the "wise men". Probable the reconfirmation of Anna Maria Cancellieri at the Interior.

Meanwhile Matteo Renzi, in an interview with La Repubblica, said he was in favor of forming a government that would last "no more than a year" and then return to the vote "with a new electoral law". The mayor of Florence calls for "a package of measures that give citizens a shot in the arm" and relaunches the idea of a constitutional reform that introduces "the direct election of the head of state". As for the composition of the new Executive, “let's face even one of our premiers – continues Renzi -. At this point the Democratic Party is in a corner. Either it comes out or it blows up”.

The secretary of the PDL, Angelino Alfano, aims instead at "a government that, given the numbers and representativeness of its composition, can make the necessary reforms". But the centre-right wants to form an all-political team: "Frankly, we have already given the technicians", Alfano underlines again in an interview with Il Messaggero.

On the markets front, between Wednesday and Friday Italy will have to face new auctions of Ctz, Btp and Bot. And trust in the new government could help.
