Inflation is falling in the OECD area: according to the latest data from the Organization, the consumer price index recorded 2,7% last March, against the 2,8% trend in February. The data reflects in particular the trends in the energy and food sectors, which respectively recorded an annual rate of 6,5% and 3,5% in March against 7,9% and 3,8% in February.

Excluding food and energy, inflation remained unchanged at 1,9% in March. As far as Italy is concerned, the OECD notes, the level remained stable at 3,3%. Also stable at 2,7% in the Eurozone. Looking at individual countries, consumer prices marked a clear deceleration in Canada between February and March last year, from 2,6% to 1,9%, and a more moderate slowdown in the USA (from 2,9% to 2,7. 2,3%) and in Germany (from 2,1% to 2,3%). Stable in France (0,3%). An acceleration in prices was instead recorded in Japan from 0,5% to 3,4% and more lightly in Great Britain from 3,5% to XNUMX%.
