OECD: unemployment falls to 7,6%

In the Eurozone, the average unemployment rate remained stable in December (12%), while in Italy there was a reduction of 0,1 percentage points, to 12,7% - The situation in the United States is quite different, where the figure recorded a decrease of 0,3% to 6,7%.

OECD: unemployment falls to 7,6%

In December the rate of unemployment in the OECD area it recorded a slight decrease for the third consecutive month, settling at 7,6%, 0,1% less than in November. This was communicated by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, specifying that at the end of 2013 in the countries of the area there were a total of 46 million and 200 thousand unemployed, 11,5 million more than in July 2008, when the situation began to worsen due to the outbreak of the global financial crisis.

Narrowing the gaze to the sun Eurozone, the average unemployment rate remained stable at 12%, while in Italy there was a reduction of 0,1 percentage points, to 12,7%. Over United States the decline was greater: -0,3%, to 6,7%.

Among the advanced countries, the Spain continues to have the highest unemployment rate (25,8%), despite the latest monthly decline of 0,3 percentage points. At the opposite end of the scale, the lowest value is 3% of the South Korea.
