By February 3, Consob should give the go-ahead for the new Enel issue – The bonds should have a six-year maturity, for a total value of 1,5 billion, which can be raised up to 3 – Meanwhile, the placement of the new bonds continues successfully Eni's obligations.

New bonds: good Eni, Enel arrives

On the bond market, now it's up to Enel. Consob will give the go-ahead by 3 February for the issue of a new bond by the Italian energy company. The offer – which is expected to be in two tranches – should begin on 6 February and end on 24. The total amount will be 1,5 billion euros, but could go up to 3 billion. The envisaged duration for new titles is six years.

Meanwhile, the issue of Eni bonds continues successfully, launching fixed-rate securities with a nominal value of 1 billion euro, against initial requests for 13 billion. The duration is 8 years, with an annual coupon that yields 4,25%.

“The issue – specifies the company in a note – is aimed at maintaining a balanced financial structure as regards the ratio between short-term and medium/long-term debt. The loan will shortly be listed on the Luxembourg stock exchange”. In addition to Italy, the bonds were purchased mainly by institutional investors in France, Great Britain, Germany, Austria and Benelux.
