Interno Voce is born: the non-profit organization to give voice to cancer patients

An association to give back, through the theater, a voice to cancer patients who have undergone a total or partial laryngectomy. It's about Internal Voce Onlus, an association born in the wake of "Progetto interno voce", a theater workshop created in 2013, and presented in recent days in Rome, at the Vaccheria Nardi library in Via di Grotta di Gregna 37.

The experience of "Voice Internal Project” had materialized with a theatrical show, directed by Antonello Belli, performed in Rome and Spoleto in 2014, in which cancer patients, following partial or total laryngectomy operations, thought of experimenting with the artistic and expressive possibilities of their new entry. The Interno Voce group was invited to participate in the Autobiography Festival organized by the Free University of Autobiography of Anghiari in 2014 and in the Conference "La Voce Artistica" held in Ravenna in 2015.

The purpose of the newborn association, also through the site www.internovoceonlus.it, is to promote the activation of artistic workshops within which patients, family members and health professionals meet with the aim of operating in favor of subjects affected by oncological pathologies, with particular reference to head and neck neoplasms. To help a voice wounded by illness find the way to art and healing.

On the occasion of the presentation of the non-profit organization, Lucia Strappini, professor of Italian literature at the University for foreigners of Siena, presented the book "La terza corda" by Luisella Carboni with Interno Voce, which narrates the artistic and rehabilitative experience lived during the realization of the laboratory and of the theatrical show.
